Late Motibhau Kotecha,
the Founder President of Shri. SaraswatiVidyaPrasarak
Mandal was born on 7th April 1945 in the village,
Devulgaonmali, Dist.-Buldhana (MS) in a farmer’s family.
His father being a land lord was generous by nature. He
owned big land. Those who came to him, he would donate
the land. The family had no business background. Primary
education of Motibhau was completed in native place. Due
to philanthropic approach of his father, the family then
faced financial problems. Bhau, being a school boy had
strong desire for education. Therefore, he was shifted
to Bhusawal. He completed his S.S.C. from New English
School, Bhusawal. He went to Dhule for higher education.
There from Government Engineering College, he secured
B.E. (Civil) degree and accepted job for the time being
in ZilhaParishad.
He started construction business in year 1971. In the
beginning, he struggled but he knew failure is the first
step to success and accordingly continued his attempts.
He was self motivated with passion to succeed. He opened
his small office in front of OswalPanchayati Wada.
Gradually he extended his business and accepted
contracts from out of Maharashtra since 1984. Bohra
Water Resource was his first completed project. Then
after, he completed many minor & major projectsregarding
irrigation.
Motibhau was well-known not only for his technical
abilities but also for his people oriented approach.
Motibhau a businessman has his heart for Literature and
Arts also. He promoted the play “Tanmajori” by providing
financial assistance to famous theatre artist- Nana
Patekar. Being kind hearted, Bhau wanted to help needy,
deprived and poor people by offering financial support.
Therefore, this man with foresight started “Kapurchand
Kotecha Urban Co-operative Credit Society at Bhusawal.
He was lover of arts. He founded Mahavir Krupa
Educational, Cultural, and Sports Academy. He was the
Founder President of this organization. This academy
arrange series of lectures by renowned personalities
every year from 11th to 13th January, Now it has been so
famous that people await eagerly for this knowledgeable
feast.
Motibhau Kotecha had philosophic base. He knew the
importance of meditation in human life. He and his wife-Smt.Padamabhabhiji
Kotecha developed VipashyanaSadhana Center in
Shantinagar, Bhusawal. It is located in peaceful
surrounding of about 2,000 sq.fit area. Today hundreds
of followers are taking the advantage of this facility.
Motibhau Kotecha was a visionary person. It was his
dream to open an institution for educating girls. He had
genuine desire to uplift and to empower the poor
sections of the society, particularly women. So in 1984
he establilised Shri SaraswatiVidyaPrasarak Mandal,
Bhusawal. It runs Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary,
Higher Secondary, U.G and P.G sections. Smt. P. K.
Kotecha Mahila Mahavidyalaya caters value based quality
higher education to girls. It is now fast growing
educational hub and has achieved the reputation of a
leading institution. It has over the years blossomed
into a flowering centre of learning for girl students.
It has played a crucial role in creating healthy,
disciplined environment for the women who come from
suburb and rural areas, having different social,
religious and economic backgrounds. Many more students
of this institution have secured their ranks in
university merit list. For the overall development of
the students NSS, curricular, extracurricular, cultural
activities are organized.
Hon. Motibhau deserves special regards for building such
a healthy institution with real academic, social and
cultural ambience. He got married on 13th July 1972 with
Padamabhabhiji. Bhartiya Jain Sanghatana took a note of
the works of this couple and honored Bhau as “Samajshiromani”.
It was conferred on him on 26th Nov. 1999 in the
presence of thousands of the people. In 2004 he was
given “Bhusawal Navaratna” puraskar by Jesis Club,
Bhusawal. He donated lakhs of rupees as a relief fund to
the earthquake affected people at Bhooj, Gujarat.
Bhau, a man of strong desire, had a heart trouble. On
7th of August 1992 he went through bypass surgery. It
prolonged his life span till 26th of May 2006. It was
Friday, he passed away never to return. Once again he
suffered a severe heart attack. After the death as per
his will, his eyes were donated.
There is in each of us so much goodness that if you
could see its glow, it would light the world. Those who
love deeply never grow old. They may die of old age but
they die young. No matter what Motibhau’s age or his
condition, his dreams are renewable whether he was 61 or
67 he is a lifetime ahead of us.
